Southern Highlands Casino Resort in Las Vegas was given a special permit to enlarge the size and the capacity of its building. The casino resort operator announced receiving the permit on Friday. In his announcement, he revealed his plans to add 120 feet in height and around 3,000 additional hotel rooms and condominium units.
The permit was given by the Clark County Board of Commissioners, who allowed the company to add up to 120 feet in height and a maximum of 3,200 rooms and condominium residencies. The groundbreaking of the project is due to the end of this year.
The first part project will be including additional 1,400 hotel rooms and it is planned to be ready by the beginning of 2008. In the second phase, more 1,000 hotel rooms and 800 condominiums will be constructed.
