People in the Lehigh Valley area do not want a casino moving in and ruining their small town

Citizens of the Lehigh Valley area of Pennsylvania are extremely worried about the possibility of a Slot casino moving into their town. If the license is granted a group is looking to build a new slots casino on the site of Bethlehem's old steel Company.

the group has chose to go by the name the Bethlehem Defense Fund, plans on hiring Lawyers, engineers, and Traffic Consultants in an attempt to stop the casinos opening at any expense.

A casino in the area will bring people from all over and that will cause noise, traffic and could bring a bad element into our beautiful little town. We have no objections to gambling, but we just do not want a casino in our town, because we do not want the hassle.

The group has already hired 2 local lawyers to help block the Gaming Control Board from approving a casino in the area. According to the lawyers there are 5 different groups applying for the license and only one of the 5 want to move to Bethlehem, so if we jut approve a different one everyone is happy%u201D said one of the lawyers.

"The group retained us in order to, shall we say, pursue all possible avenues" with respect to preventing gaming and casinos in the area, one of the lawyers told The Express-Times of Easton.

If the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board approve this casino in the Bethlehem area, I can assure you a very close and meticulous oversight of any and all operations as relates to the city of Bethlehem."

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board will make their decision on the 20th of December.
