The residents of Cullman County have organized a Texas Holdem poker tournament next Saturday at 12 pm. The host of this event will be the Bar Association Relay for Life and the event will take place in the Family Life Center at Sacred Heart Church. The revenues from this event will be destined to cancer research.
Relay for Life raises money for research in cancer and celebrates the recovery of cancer patients. The research programs are financed by the American Cancer Society. The Bar Association team will ask for 100 dollar donations, in exchange donators will receive a t-shirt and lunch. During the poker tournament, participants will be encouraged to walk or run laps, in an attempt to symbolize the struggle cancer survivors have to face in their daily routine. The game will go on until someone wins. The winner will receive a 42 inch TV, and the second place a 27 inch TV. There will also be small prizes.
