The worlds largest casino the Foxwoods Resort Casino is changing its management in conjunction with the MGM Mirage to prepare for a 700 million expansion.
The
Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation, the owners of Foxwoods, has named a new casino president and is possibly searching for another president due to a plan to restructure the casino due to massive growth in the casino sector of Foxwoods casino officials said.
John O'Brien will preside as president of Foxwoods after this week. He was previously the chief financial officer and also and executive vice president.
Foxwoods will be creating the second presidents position to help oversee the new operations of a hotel and casino in development with MGM, said a spokesman for the
tribal nation.
Foxwoods is gearing themselves for two major operations and they knew it was time to create a more detailed structure of their operation before their business got too large.
This is a huge change in the past management of Foxwoods structure, where there was only one president and chief executive officer in charge of it all at Foxwoods. The CEO position is being eliminated at the moment, and may be reinstated, but also could not say whether the two presidents would report directly to the tribal council or not.

Sherlock, the previous CEO and president of Foxwoods, announced that after 6 years he was stepping down. He will continue to work with the casino while focusing on management of the casino, the new MGM project and more development for the Foxwoods company.
These management changes are to prepare Foxwoods for and expansion and an addition of some 2,300 new employees. The Foxwoods new project is set to open in 2008, and will include inside the casino a convention center, theater, restaurants, and a hotel tower for observation.
