Gary Dolenga of La Quinta won 49,000 dollars and a gold and diamond championship ring.

Gary Dolenga of La Quinta won the first place in WSOP Circuit Event at San Diegos Rincon Casino. Dolenga beat his opponents in a 1,000 dollars buy-in No Limit Holdem tournament. He went home with a 49,000 dollars prize and a gold and diamond championship ring.

Dolenga said he has been playing poker all his life, but only in the last couple of years he started taking part in No Limit tournaments. He has been practicing his poker playing skills by joining both online and live poker games. In addition, Dolenga follows poker games on TV and reads poker books. He said he used the poker books as study guides in order to prepare himself for the tournament.

The WSOP Circuit Events are multi tournaments that are being held across the country before the World Series of Poker main event that will take place in Las Vegas in July.
